something that really works I"am proof November 23, 2011
Reviewer: Phil Lanford from Mobile, Alabama USA

I just wanted to thank you for having a product that really works. I used your stop smoking patch kit in sept of 1996 and to this date have never wanted to smoke since that date.
I started smoking in 1968 while in Vietnam and tried to stop so many times but all the other so called aids never worked till I came across your patch system looking back it was so easy I wish everyone would use it. The reason I"am now writing you is, I was at the doctors office last week for a checkup and he asked me did I or have I ever smoked and I told him the same thing that I told you. He stated that also wish that all smokers could quit like I did. So again Thank You for making a product that really works. Thank you Phil Lanford

1st Day Free August 10, 2010
Reviewer: Tara Morrell from Toronto, Ontario, Canada

I was a smoker and I quit cold turkey for 18 1/2 years. I started again 2 years ago due to stress and found it more difficult to quit this time. I had been "trying" cold turkey for a year and a half and never lasted more than a couple hours. I hesitantly decided to put a patch on yesterday at 3 pm (after I ran out of cigarettes) and it is now almost 9 am and I have yet to have a craving. Last night I had the most vivid dreams and to tell you the truth, I think I got more satisfaction from those dreams than I did when I had those cigarettes "that I just needed to have". Wish me luck!

Too expensive March 18, 2010
Reviewer: Matthew Gowan from SLO, Ca, USA

I decided to quit smoking about 35 days ago. So far I am doing great with the help of patches. They really help the cravings, and after the first 3 or 4 days it gets much, much easier.

I decided to get CVS brand patches since they were about $12 dollars cheaper per pack. I bought 2 packs of the 21 mg step 1 variety, intending to switch down to step 2 14mg in 28 days. Everything went smoothly, but when i went back to pick up my supply of step 2 they were all out so I decided to get the Nicoderm CQ brand step 2 instead.

Well, the Nicoderm brand seems to not only be 12 dollars more expensive, but also a lot worse for my skin. I don't know why, but i get red spots all over my skin after i remove them. I never got these rashes with the CVS brand. So what's the extra $12 dollars for? translucent plastic and a rash? I'm glad there were some CVS brand step 3's in stock because i'm looking forward to going back to then in a week or so.

THANK YOU CQ February 25, 2010
Reviewer: P. Gronquist from Austin, Texas USA

I have just finished my 10 week program and have no more "real" cravings for a cigarette. During the first week, the psychological addiction was the hardest to overcome, not the physical. I just had a small "psychological" craving today that lasted about 15 seconds. No patch involved. If you really don't want to smoke anymore, use this program. It has worked for me. I wish I would have used Nicoderm years ago, but I wasn't ready to quit then. Hope this helps. Best of luck to all.

good product December 18, 2007

After reading the review above I would suggest that cardiologist is a smoker and is himself looking for reasons not to quit. To wean yourself off smoking over 2.5 years is bad advice if near impossible. You keep yourself addicted while denying yourself relief from the addiction. A recipe for misery. Read Alan Carr's book on giving up smoking.

I quit using Alan Carr's method for about a year a few years ago but had a relapse.

I am now trying again using this product. It has been really helpful. I can go without smoking without the suffering. It makes it much easier.

I have been using patches for 4 weeks now. I do have sensitive skin and I find if I put a patch on the same spot twice or place a patch on sensitive area it does give me a rash which lasts a few days due to the adhesive. However, a rash which lasts a few days is better than a smoking habit which lasts a life time and I would recommend this product.

I have been smoking for 15 years.

I can do it this time! March 03, 2007
Reviewer: Anne from Wisconsin, USA

It's been 3 days and I haven't had a cigarette! I'm only 25, but I started soming when I was about 16. I started on the step 2 since I only smoked about 8-10 cigarettes a day and it's worked so far. I'm a teacher, so I get stressed out easily, which is a big compenent on why I smoked for that many years. I've actually lost about 2 pounds since I've started the patches.

I've been walking my new puppy, which I bought myself for motivation to quit. I've also just been cleaning and knitting, working out and doing as mnay things as I can to keep busy. I already feel so much better, but I keep coughing, which I guess is normal.

I tried the commit lozenges, which helped me quit for a few days, but I've notices that sucking on peppermints or chewing gum while on the patch helps a lot. I always just think, "what if something happened to me and smoking was the reason why?" My father died from a heart attack when I was 9 most likely from drinking and smoking and I'm not about to have that happen to me!

Wish me luck!

Ramdom Effectiveness November 06, 2006

There are way too many variables involved in nicotine addiction to state whether any product can be effective. At best most products to aid quitting smoking are a shot in the dark. However if you use a nicotine substitute while recovering from the other effects of smoking you may find giving up nicotine at that point a little easier. Keep in mind that nicotine primarily affects dopamine and dopamine is a very powerful natural chemical in the body. Your best approach is too do what you can to keep your dopamine levels high while quitting. That means do things that you enjoy, that make you happy. The second criteria for success is to accept that your brain chemicals have to rebalance after you quit using nicotine and there is nothing you can do to speed this up other than being generally healthy. I believe it is this second criteria that enables people to quit successfully. Accept the recovery process ... fighting it only makes it harder.

nicoderm cq January 13, 2006
Reviewer: Jan from USA

I have been a smoker for 30 years. I saw an advertisment for a quit line, 1-800-quit now. I called and they asked what insurance company I had and said that the insurance will pay for and send nicoderm cq patches for 8 week program. They also have conselers that you can talk to. The first three days I had cravings while on the patch but it was not that bad. By the end of the week I hardly had any cravings, and am now on my second week. This is a wonderful product and I know now that I will never go back to smoking. I wish I used this a long time ago.

Second time around April 01, 2005
Reviewer: Marci K from Atlanta, Ga USA

I have been a smoker for 33 years. I tried to quit once before using the Nicoderm patch. I was not successful because I did not use it according to the directions. That was over 10 years ago. Two months ago, I began the program again. It HAS helped, but it is not a GOOD program because nicotine is a drug and without the advice and direction of a physician, it can be harmful if too much is absorbed. I had to consult a cardiologist because of the effects of receiving too much nicotine over the course of the day. He explained it this way: the urge for a cigarette is our addictive body's response to the need for the "fix". With the patch, our body doesn't have the opportunity to let us know when we need the "fix" because the patch is pumping it into our systems automatically and therefore, we are overdosing on the nicotine causing increased heart rates, sluggishness, and irritability as well as irratic sleep patterns and disturbances. This is a very expensive and harmful way to try to quit smoking. A doctor's program would most assuredly be the best. The cardiologist I spoke with said the best way to stop smoking is to wean yourself slowly from the amount of cigarettes smoked daily down to smoking only one or two a day and then just stopping. He said this should be done over the course of two years.
